Carminuccio’s Pizza Wins Softball Title

Carminuccio’s Pizza successfully defended its Men’s Slo-Pitch Softball title by knocking off Newtown Sunoco in the finals at Treadwell Park on Tuesday. Carminuccio’s defeated One-Eyed Pig 12-3, then defeated a tough Sunoco squad twice, by the scores of 17-5 and 12-9 to retain a hold on the title. One Eyed Pig had beaten Smith Miller Construction to advance in the playoffs.

Carminuccio’s balanced attack was led by Mike Kennedy and Tim LaPak, each of whom homered twice, and pitcher Pat Smith who totaled seven hits in the two final-round wins. Sunoco was led by Rick Kasbarian who hit a three-run home run, and Chris Dennis who had five hits. Strong contributions were also made by PJ Cochrane and Matt LaPak for Caminuccio’s throughout the season.
