To the Editor:

This November I will be casting my vote to re-elect Debbie Aurelia Halstead for town clerk!

I was fortunate to be a part of this year’s low cost annual rabies clinic organized and facilitated by our town clerk. I saw firsthand what it takes to coordinate this clinic in an efficient and fun way.

Hours of planning went into recruiting volunteers to fill out the rabies certificates; scheduling the veterinary and tech assistant from Mt Pleasant Hospital; and coordinating with the State of Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association. A quick decision to change the location to outside the municipal center was made this year so that volunteers and residents could have their pets vaccinated safely following COVID-19 guidelines.

Debbie knows this clinic benefits our pets and we are fortunate that she continues to volunteer her time to offer this to our town. Thank you for all you do!
