Attorney George N. Wakelee, Newtown, died October 14. 

His loving wife Patricia; his daughters Karen A. Hughes of South Kent and Joan P. Lewis of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren Elizabeth Ashley Hughes of San Francisco, Carolyn Patricia Hughes of Woodbury, and Brian Lewis of Hawaii; and one great-granddaughter survive him.

Attorney Wakelee practiced law in Newtown for more than 60 years.

He served in the United States Army during World War II, in the European Theater of Operations,  and was past commander of Post 74, American Legion, Fairfield.

Services will be private, at the discretion of the family.
