Atlanta Designer Joins Victoria Yarrow Home Decor
Atlanta Designer Joins Victoria Yarrow Home Decor
After years of wanting to relocate to Newtown, Neci Marr, a former Atlanta, Ga.-based interior designer, has finally made the transition and will be working as the design consultant/specialist for Victoria Yarrow Home Décor in the Village Shopping Center on South Main Street.
She will be working with Victoria Yarrow owner Joan Yarrow to offer in-home design consultations and small- to large-scale decorating services that include furniture, lighting, draperies, bedding, accessories, and colors.Â
Ms Marr has ten years of residential design experience as well as experience in commercial design including, most recently, the offices of Time magazine in Atlanta.
Ms Marr said that while very large new homes are typical in both the Atlanta and Newtown areas, the real estate market is quite different.Â
âI helped people with their big new houses ââ for $250,000 you could get a big house in Atlanta,â she said. âAnd it wasnât that long ago that you could get a big house for $150,000 there.â
Her typical projects ranged from one or two rooms to five or more and included everything from placement of furniture to accessories.
Originally from New Hampshire, Ms Marr has two sisters who live in Monroe including Dr Beverly Marr, a chiropractor who owns the Physical Medicine and Wellness Center, located at 24 Glen in Sandy Hook, and three brothers who live in Europe. Now a Newtown resident, Neci Marr is the mother of Jackie, 6, who attends the Waldorf School.
âIâm very happy to be living in a small community where I can really offer personalized service,â Ms Marr said. âMy talent is taking a homeownerâs idea of how they want their home to look and feel and turning it into a beautiful reality.â
Ms Marr works by appointment and can be reached through Victoria Yarrow Home Décor at 270-6230.
