Barbara O’Connor Honored For Garden Club Work

Barbara O’Connor of Town and Country Garden Club of Newtown was recently honored with a Tribute Award by the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut. Mrs O’Connor received the honor during the state club’s annual awards ceremony at the Aqua Turf on October 8.

Mrs O’Connor was nominated by Corina Prokai, the past president of Town and Country, who chose Mrs O’Connor because she has been “such an important and enthusiastic proponent of horticulture all the years she has been involved in gardening and club activities.” At each meeting, Mrs O’Connor helps judge all the floral arrangements as well as the horticultural exhibits and encourages all the members to participate.
