To the Editor:
I canât tell you how pleased and excited I am that Bill Sheluck is running for first selectman. It is rare that a man with his background and qualifications chooses to devote himself to local town government. I know his decision to run for first selectman was a difficult one because of the impact it would have on his family. However, he cared so much about Newtown and is willing to make some personal sacrifices in order to help this town be the best it can be.
If you havenât already seen him around town, just look for him at Dunkinâ Donuts, Big Y, the transfer station, and many other places where he will be spending his time during the next few weeks reaching out to the residents of Newtown. Go up to him. After just a few words, you will know he deserves your vote ââ Newtown needs him!
Also, mark your calendars for places where you can hear Bill: Pizza & Politics, October 20, at the Fireside Inn, and a debate at the Homesteads, October 22. Make the effort to attend one of these events ââ you wonât be disappointed.
Bill is above all a man of great integrity with high moral and ethical values. As our first selectman, he will be a tireless worker for all of us.
Sincerely,
Shannon T. Chambery
