Symphony Orchestra

DANBURY — A concert of well-known Russian music including the popular Violin Concerto by Tchaikovsky will take place Sunday, November 4, at Ives Concert Hall, 181 White Street, at 3 pm.

The Danbury Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of guest conductor Richard Brooks, will perform the overture to Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmilla #2 by Borodin, and the Tchaikovsky violin concerto. Violinist Darwin Shen will be the guest during the Tchaikovsky work.

Sandy Hook and Newtown residents performing in the November 4 Danbury Symphony Orchestra concert will include Chris Gerety, Katharine D. Isles, Donna Locke, Shane Silverman, and Charles White.

Following the concert, there will be a ceremony and reception honoring lifetime Danbury Music Centre Board member Rabbi Jerome Malino. The concert is free. Donations at the door will be accepted. For further information call 748-1716.
