Chris Klimmek and Rachel Walker

Mr and Mrs J.R. Walker of Newtown announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Walker, to Chris Klimmek, son of Tim and Jan Klimmek of Berlin, Germany.

Ms Walker, a graduate of the University of Virginia and Johns Hopkins University, is a graduate student and works as a registered nurse for the cancer center of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. Rachel graduated from Newtown High School in 1998.

Mr Klimmek graduated with a degree in philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley. He currently attends Georgetown University Law School and worked as a summer associate for the law firm of O’Melveny & Meyers in Washington, D.C. Chris graduated from Cypress High School in Cypress, Calif., in 1998.

Rachel and Chris met in Mali, West Africa, while serving as US Peace Corps volunteers. A wedding is being planned for the 2008 Memorial Day weekend in Connecticut.
