A Candidate For The Council

To the Editor:

My name is Kim Danziger and I am running for Legislative Council in the third district. For those who do not know me, I am a builder and developer here in Newtown as well as some of our surrounding communities. As a Newtown resident I am equally concerned about maintaining our character, taxes, and open space and because of my profession I impact all of these issues.

It is not uncommon for many people’s initial reaction to be one of disbelief that a developer cares about his town. But, after 14 years of building in my own community I have continuously demonstrated my commitment to our town. As the town has matured, so have my projects, with each subsequent project designed to harmonize with the town. The Planning and Zoning Commission has seen me on many occasions where I have sought to contribute a practical voice on new regulations. In fact the town is on the verge of adopting a conservation regulation which will greatly contribute to the preservation of open space at no cost to the town.

I want to thank Herb Rosenthal and the members of the Democratic Town Committee for their faith in my ability to work with our government in our shared goal of maintaining town character, open space, and tax relief. After having come to know Herb Rosenthal, I have learned that he truly believes in these three issues and makes sure that these three issues are a part of every agenda. I hope that I will have an opportunity to make these issues an enduring part of our beloved town.
