A Window Into

A Waldorf Education

The public is welcome to Housatonic Valley Waldorf School’s “A Window Into Waldorf: Educating Through the Arts,” an exhibition and assembly at Newtown Middle School on Saturday, November 1, from 10 am to noon.

Grades 1 through 7 will present a selection of songs, poetry, instrumental music, and exercises in their current studies. Examples of students’ drawings, paintings, and crafts projects will be on display.

Founded in 1919, Waldorf education emphasizes an arts-based developmental approach to learning within a supportive, noncompetitive environment from nursery school through grade 12. Two foreign languages are taught beginning in grade 1, and all students learn the pentatonic flute, recorder, and string instruments over the course of their grade-school years.

Reservations are recommended. For reservations, directions, or more information, contact the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School at 364-1113 or visit www.waldorfct.org.
