Bethel Public Library To Offer Civil War Program

BETHEL — Bethel Public Library will offer a special program featuring Civil War reenactor and living historian Michael McBride on Wednesday, November 5, at 7 pm, in Bethel Municipal Center’s parks and recreation department activity room.

The entertaining and informative program will examine Bethel’s role in the Civil War, including contribution of troops and the home front. Mr McBride’s multimedia presentation will utilize authentic reproduction equipment, weapons, documents, and other artifacts.

Members of Bethel Historical Society and others will also be showing Civil War memorabilia from their collections and sharing Bethel Civil War stories. Call the library at 794-8756 for a reservation or to join in sharing Civil War memorabilia.
