CWU State Meeting

Held In Brookfield

Church Women United of Newtown/Bethel and Greater Danbury participated last week in the Fall Assembly of the Church Women United in Connecticut at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield. Church women from throughout the state were in attendance at “Hands to Work — Hearts to God.”

The Rev Sue Klein of United Methodist Church in Sandy Hook was the pianist for the worship ceremony and members of the Newtown unit provided the light breakfast. The Greater Danbury unit provided the luncheon.

Workshops covered HIV/AIDS, United Nations, and Wells & Moringa Tree Projects. Everyone could attend two of the three workshops. Displays of items for sale from third-world countries were available as well as other displays of CWU projects.
