Open Burning Season To Resume

Open burning season is slated to resume on Saturday, November 1, and run until next April 1.

Local open burning is allowed under controlled conditions, provided that permits are obtained before open burning is done. Permits are issued by the town fire marshal’s office at Canaan House at Fairfield Hills.

The office will start issuing open burning permits on Thursday, October 30. The fee is $5. Permit holders are provided with a list of rules they must follow. The office is open on weekdays during business hours. The telephone number is 270-4370.
