Dog Training Program

DERBY — The Griffin Hospital PAWS (People and Animals Working in Spirit) therapy dog program will host a free informational session on dog training and behaviors on Saturday, November 1, at 10 am in the hospital’s Meditation and Learning Center. (Do not bring dogs to the event.)

The session will be conducted by Yvonne Rembock, a certified pet dog trainer, who will answer questions regarding training and behavior. Rembock, who graduated at the top of her class from Connecticut Canine in Newington, will provide simple techniques for solving behavior problems that you can implement yourself at home.

Also in attendance will be Ruth Tuccio, program coordinator for Griffin’s PAWS program. Tuccio, who certifies therapy teams for Therapy Dogs Inc, will be available to discuss Griffin’s PAWS program requirements and protocols with prospective therapy dog teams.

Griffin Hospital will also be selling 2009 calendars featuring its own therapy dogs at this event. All calendar proceeds will benefit the new Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital, which will feature therapy dog visitation as part of its Planetree model of care.

Don’t miss the chance to learn how to live in harmony with your canine companions.

Register at www.griffi nhealth.org/events/dog.htm or call Ruth Tuccio at 203-732-1298.
