Five Charges
About 7:16 am October 18, while monitoring traffic flow on South Main Street, police noticed that motorist Adam Hayden, 24, of Monroe was driving a Volkswagen which had a defective tail lamp, so they stopped him to investigate.
Police charged Hayden with failure to have a functioning tail lamp, driving with a suspended license, failure to return a suspended license to the state Department of Motor Vehicles, driving without automotive insurance, and driving an unregistered vehicle.
After he posted $100 bail, police released Hayden for a June 30 court appearance.
Larceny Warrant
Police said that while they were at a Newtown High School football game at the schoolâs sports stadium at about 8:20 pm October 17, they spotted a 16-year-old boy for whom they held an arrest warrant.
Police then charged the youth with sixth-degree larceny in connection with an incident that occurred on September 18.
Following arrest processing, police released the boy on written promise to appear on November 7 in Danbury Juvenile Offender Court. State law shields the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes.
