New Club Integrates Wellness Philosophy, Multisport Training Arena

DANBURY — Sport & Wellness Danbury, a full-service tennis, multisport, fitness and wellness complex, recently completed several key phases of construction leading to its upcoming launch. Known formerly as Beaver Brook Tennis Club on Starr Road, this transformation is designed to provide families and aspiring athletes with a comprehensive tennis, fitness, and multisports experience.

Improvements include an expansive mezzanine and viewing lounge, multisport court, and climbing wall.

Lex Kessler, CEO and owner of the Sport & Wellness group of clubs, said the Danbury facility represents the cornerstone project of his company. The newly transformed recreational complex is built around four primary sport and wellness venues including five US Open Deco Turf championship tennis courts, a multisport court (offering soccer, basketball, dodge ball, volleyball, and other popular team sports programs), the area’s only climbing wall, and a fitness and wellness center spanning strength resistance, cardiovascular, and group exercise workout zones. Pilates, yoga, nutrition, and massage therapy programs are also offered in the wellness center.

Remodeled locker rooms with showers and saunas, an enhanced pro shop, a juice bar with catered food service, greatly expanded parking facilities, a new front entrance, and adjoining member reception area complete the club’s makeover.

Sport & Wellness has chosen Italian manufacturer Technogym to provide the club’s line of fitness and wellness equipment.

The Sport & Wellness “lifestyle philosophy” recognizes that exercise, a healthy diet, and a positive mental attitude are the foundations of emotional and physical well-being.

“Our personal approach to fitness is aimed at helping our members integrate all aspects of wellness into their lives in a way that is unique to each one and is also specific to their personal needs and aspirations,” states John Heagle, general manager and an industry fitness veteran.
