Occupation: I am an airline pilot for American Eagle Airlines out of LaGuardia in New York. I’ve been flying airplanes since I first took lessons when I was 14 years old, and flying commercially for almost 15 years.

Family: My wife is Stacey. We have a 3½-year-old son named Matthew. We’re expecting our second child in January.

Pets: Right now we just have two goldfish, Fin and White.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We’ve lived here for almost ten years. We moved here from Ridgefield, where I grew up.

What do you like to do in your free time? Most of my free time is spent hanging out with my son. I like to play golf, too, at the public courses in Connecticut and New York. The course out at West Point in New York is probably one of my favorites. I like to read, especially when I have time during layovers at the airports.

Do you have a favorite author? I like John Grisham and other authors like him.

Do you have a favorite vacation destination? My wife and I went on a trip to Egypt in February of 2001, and that was one of our favorite vacations. I loved the ancient history and the pyramids. We went on a Nile River boat cruise. It was a lot of fun.

What is the best thing about Newtown? There are so many good things. I think Newtown has one of the prettiest Main Streets of any I’ve seen. It doesn’t seem to change much. And the people and the community are great. There are a lot of activities for kids and the schools seem great, too.

If you could travel to the past or future, which would you pick? I would probably travel to the past, into the late 1950s and 1960s. I like that era and it would be fun to meet my dad when he was just starting out as a pilot, too.

Do you have a personal philosophy? Honesty is my philosophy. Be as honest as you possibly can, even in the small things in life.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? It’s got to be junk food, especially M&Ms. I go back and forth between the peanut and regular M&Ms, and I like the classic flavors best.
