To the Editor:

In a time of economic turmoil, the choice of a state representative could not be more important. Connecticut is facing some difficult economic times, and it’s going to take real leadership in Hartford to deal effectively with the state budget and to make decisions in the best interests of Newtown and the rest of the state.

We will be better served by an experienced local leader. That is why I am supporting Will Rodgers for state representative. As chairman of the Newtown Legislative Council his knowledge of the town and school system needs runs deep. He is a successful businessman and an officer in the Marine Corps Reserve, rising to the rank of colonel. He recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq where he represented the United States in difficult negotiations advancing American policy. Will is the best candidate that we can send to Hartford to work with the state governor and other lawmakers to craft policy benefiting Newtown.
