On October 10, the 31st Newtown Health Fair was held at Newtown Community Center. Scores of guests attended. Flu shots were provided for those who wanted them by Housatonic Valley Health District, and Newtown Rotary Club offered free car seat safety checks. Multiple organizations were on site for free health screenings, and the US Department of Veterans Affairs held an information session on veteran services. Three 90-year-old veterans were registered for the first time. A highlight was the presence of Newtown-Strong Therapy Dogs, which delighted children and adults alike. Health Fair organizers included Matt Ariniello, Natalie Griffith, Dr Joe Young, Dr Della Schmid, Donna Culbert, Donna Monteleone, Neil Chaudhary, Maureen Crick-Owen, and Anna Wiedemann.
