FOR 10/31 MOUNTAIN TOY & RAILROAD CLUB SHOW NOV. 16

AK/cd set 10/27 #755404

Albany, N.Y. — The Mountain Toy & Railroad Club will hold a toy and train show Sunday, November 16, at the Polish Community Center, Washington Avenue Extension. The public is invited to attend from 9 am to 2 pm.

General admission is $5 and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Parking is free and refreshments and lunch will be available.

The show will feature approximately 75 dealers from the tri-state area offering a variety of toys and trains made by most of the major manufacturers in all the popular gauges, including N, HO, O scale, Lionel O, 0-27, Standard, LGB and American Flyer S gauge. Visitors should be able to find almost anything related to the toy train hobby at the show. Replacement parts, especially for the old Lionel and American Flyer trains, catalogs from the past, books on all phases of the hobby, windup tin toys, cast iron banks, pressed steel trucks and soldiers will also be shown.

Operating train layouts provided by local train enthusiasts will represent the most popular scales and gauges. These layouts have always been a major part of the show especially with the younger crowd. Presented in O gauge will be the TTOS Empire and Eastern Division with its large modular layout running all kinds of locomotives and trains. The Catskill, Adirondack and Berkshire Model Railroad will be on hand with its superb layout in HO gauge, operating several trains simultaneously. A large N gauge layout will also be displayed by the Albany-N-Trak club.

Also free appraisals will be available at the show for anyone with an old toy or train that they might have. Just bring it to the show and someone will appraise it, whether it is for sale or not. Also the club’s train doctor will be on hand with his test track to help those in need of getting their old trains running again.
