Candidates I Support

To the Editor:

An article in the October 22 Wall Street Journal titled “Republicans Target Deep-Blue New England in Midterms” highlighted republican candidates’ attempts to portray themselves as moderates. Their hope is to get themselves into traditionally democrat-controlled offices.

In our state elections, each of the republican candidates running for office have chosen not to follow this game plan:

Leora Levy, CT US Senate candidate, is clearly aligned with the far right, Trump MAGA agenda, opposing gun control and abortion rights for woman.

George Logan, CT US House of Representative candidate, voted against raising the minimum wage and a law requiring the safe storage of firearms while in the CT legislature. He has also stated he will not support a federal law to put Roe vs Wade protections for women back in place.

Tony Hwang has failed to give clear answers on basic questions such as whether he supports a woman’s right to choose, or if he supports the common sense gun legislation in our state.

As a result, I have no choice but to support the following candidates:

Richard Blumenthal to represent CT in the US Senate.

Jahana Hayes for the 5th district congressional seat.

And Captain Tim Gavin for our state senator.

Won’t you join me in voting for these candidates?

Sincerely,

Gavin Arneth

Sandy Hook

Interesting that you say nothing positive about the candidates whom you will be voting for. What has Blumenthal done for us?
