To the Editor:

I am proud to endorse Jordana Bloom for town clerk of Newtown. Like me, Jordana is a mother of four children. Jordana and I spent years together on many athletic fields watching our daughters play soccer and our other children play together on the sidelines.

Jordana is one of the sweetest and the smartest women I know and she deeply cares about our community. Jordana and her family lived abroad in Europe and China for seven years and they made a decision to return to Newtown. Since her return, Jordana has humbly served Newtown. For two terms, Jordana was elected to represent my family and my neighbors on the Legislative Council in District 2. She advocated for Newtown’s children on the Education Subcommittee and worked to improve the local laws on the Ordinance Subcommittee. She is currently the vice chair of the Municipal Operations Subcommittee.

Newtown would be lucky to have Jordana as our next town clerk. Her small business ownership experience coupled with her municipal government experience makes her more than qualified for Newtown’s town clerk position. Her extensive experience with purchasing, budgeting, customer service, office systems management, scheduling, and task management from her previous jobs and positions will help to make the Newtown town clerk’s office more open, inclusive, accessible, and friendly.

I am confident Jordana would make the Office of Town Clerk in Newtown one the best in Connecticut. I encourage all to vote for my friend Jordana Bloom for town clerk of Newtown.
