On Sunday, October 12, Newtown Community Center sponsored a Pumpkin Painting event. Children and their parents rolled up their sleeves and got busy creating one-of-a-kind hand painted pumpkins.

There was plenty of glitter, some of which found itself into the hair of the “artists,” and there was plenty on some faces as well. The group was small but very festive. There were lots of giggles to go around and many “oohs” and “aahs” as the artists marveled at each other’s creativity.

Aryana Mittal, 3, said she was very happy with how her pumpkin looked and that she named him Gabby the Pumpkin. Aryana got as much paint on herself as she did on Gabby, but she did not seem to mind, nor did her mom. It was all in good fun.
One of the pumpkins that was being worked on during the event had a lot of glitter to go around.
