A Necessary Calling

To the Editor:

The citizens of Newtown have gone through another election campaign period and are now poised to vote on November 4 for a host of local seats. As a challenger and candidate for a Board of Education seat I am particularly proud of the fact that we the voters and candidates have waged an honest and forthright campaign focusing on the issues and our various approaches and methodologies in bringing better government to our wonderful town.

Our school system is in dire need of a board which will focus on a three-pronged approach to providing our children with an education: A superior education which exists concurrently with superior value for our tax dollars and an accountability to the taxpayers. This is what I stand for and commit myself to.

I have been most impressed with the many that have communicated to me their support and willingness to work to achieve these objectives. It is a calling, which the voters have made abundantly clear, is not only desirable but also necessary. The time is now here to vote for those who will ensure that these ideals will be implemented.

To all of my fellow citizens I thank you for allowing me the pleasure and honor of articulating my beliefs and vision for instilling a new reality into one of our most important activities as parents and holders of the public trust: The education of our children.

Above all else be certain to exercise your right to choose a better tomorrow by being sure to vote on November 4.
