Agnes P. Heyde

Agnes P. Heyde, 77, of Bethel, died October 26 at Ashlar of Newtown. She was the wife of the late William D. Heyde, who died in a tornado in Worcester, Mass., in 1953.

She was born in Bethel, September 30, 1926, daughter of the late Harry and Nora (Peck) Penney.

Mrs Heyde was a graduate of Danbury High School, with the Class of 1944. She was employed by English Drug Store of Bethel as a bookkeeper, and she retired after 28 years of service.

She resided in Bethel and West Redding most of her life. She loved gardening and to cook and sew, and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Danbury.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Fichtel, and her husband, William, of Roxbury. She was the devoted grandmother of Meghan and Alexander of Roxbury; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Wayne P. Heyde, in 1991.

Funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Saturday, November 1, at 11 am. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the Green Funeral Home on Saturday, from 10 am to the time of the service.
