Car Wash To Benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation

As the holiday season approaches, individuals and organizations often look for ways to give back to their communities. Carwash professionals are no different. This fall, professional carwashes across the country will join together to implement the second annual nationwide Wash USA event to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation on Saturday, November 1.

The Newtown Car Wash is participating in this event and will contribute $1.50 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every carwash. The rain date is Saturday, November 8.

“We have set a goal for ourselves of raising $750 for the foundation,” said George Visnyei, president of Newtown Car Wash

Wash USA began in 2001, when it raised nearly $40,000 for the International Committee of the Red Cross with the participation of more than 100 East Coast and Denver, Colo., carwashes. Last year, through the participation of more than 700 car washes and the support of several industry sponsors, Wash USA raised more than $107,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Event organizers hope to double that total at this year’s event.

“This event is an excellent opportunity for leaders in the carwash industry to work together to move the image of the industry forward, as well as help some very special children in the process,” Mr Visnyei said. “We encourage washes across the country to participate in this exciting event.”

“We are overjoyed to be a part of this extraordinary partnership,” said Paula Van Ness, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. “Thanks to the efforts of professional carwash owners and operators, more children across the country will experience unforgettable moments of hope, strength, and joy.”
