Police said they saw Robert E. Coffey, 19, of 7 Black Walnut Road walking on a sidewalk near the Super Stop & Shop supermarket at Sand Hill Plaza on South Main Street on the night of October 29.

Realizing that they held a warrant for Coffey’s arrest, police took him into custody and charged him with first degree failure to appear in court. Police said Coffey had not appeared in Danbury Superior Court on October 1, as he was scheduled, in connection with a pending charge of second degree sexual assault.
