Jayvees – Roy Scheunemann ran 80 yards for a touchdown, but that was all the scoring the Newtown High School junior varsity football team could manage in a 7-6 loss to Immaculate. Steve Kean and Dave Villareal (30-yard pass reception) helped power the offense while Brian Poeltl (interception) anchored the defense.

Freshmen – Joe DeVellis ran for one score and threw for another and Kevin Regan ran for one score and caught for another to lead the Newtown High School freshman football team to a 28-6 win over Immaculate. DeVellis scored on a 70-yard run and later tossed a 30-yard scoring pass to Regan. Regan also ran one in from 30 yards out. Chris Potter chipped in with a touchdown on a 50-yard scamper.
