Local Educator Taking Active Part
In Upcoming NCTE Convention
Newtown resident Paul E. Doniger, an English and theater teacher at the Gilbert School in Winsted, will assist in conducting a special presentation during the 93rd annual convention of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) November 25 in San Francisco.
Mr Doniger will be among educators presenting NCTEâs recently published Grammar Alive: A Guide for Teachers, in which he was a coauthor. Like the other authors, Mr Doniger is a member of the Assembly for the Teaching of English Grammar (ATEG). He has been serving as secretary for the organization for the past three years.
Mr Doniger is also an adjunct professor of English at Western Connecticut State University.
The convention is expected to attract approximately 6,000 grade school and university English teachers and supervisors from across the country. Featured among 600 concurrent sessions and workshops focusing are lectures by well-known educators and authors, as well as exhibits of new teaching materials.
