Newtown High School Faculty Launch ‘Professional Accolades’

Newtown High School administration recently debuted Professional Accolades, a morale-building newsletter recognizing high-achieving Newtown High School faculty and staff.

Paula Greenfield, world language chair, was recently honored with a National Endowment for the Humanities to study for a month in Paris.

Kerry Baldwin, an English teacher, was also honored with a National Endowment for the Humanities. She embarked to Siena, Italy, last summer to study Dante’s Commedia in English translation.

Kathy Swift, English teacher, was recently appointed to the Laurelton Hall Board of Directors in Milford.

Martin Swanhall, science teacher, was recently named editor of the Connecticut Earth Science Teachers Association (CESTA) newsletter.

Carol Skolas, alternative education instructor, Karolyn Baumgartner, science teacher, and Kirsten Hardy, history instructor, all achieved the highest possible score on their BEST portfolios. Ms Hardy was asked if hers could be used as a state model.
