33rd Annual Brookfield Craft Center Holiday Craft Sale Opens November 1

BROOKFIELD — For the gift-giving season, Brookfield Craft Center will once again transform its historic Mill Building into the ultimate “un-mall” atmosphere, one of the friendliest, most enjoyable and rewarding shopping experiences you will find. The 33rd Annual BCC Holiday Craft Sale will return on November 1.

This year the craft center expects to welcome more than 7,000 visitors from across the state and the Northeast region to make an arts and crafts pilgrimage to the center to buy heirloom quality fine craftwork. Holiday shoppers will find unique handmade gifts of lasting value made by American artisans. This will be the 33rd year for the annual event, which encompasses three floors of a circa 1780 restored grist mill.

The sale will open Saturday, November 1, at 10 am, and will continue daily (except Thanksgiving and Christmas) through December 31. The show and sale is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from noon to 5 pm. Admission is free.

The event began with just a handful of artists and lasted for just one weekend, but has grown to become one of the largest and longest running retail exhibitions of handmade American craftwork in the Northeast.

The event is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers, faculty, students and artists, many of whom have work in the show. Gift items include pottery, jewelry, woodwork, blown glass, and ornaments, plus thousands of other functional and decorative items for the home.

New this year is a Heartfelt Crafts collection of work created by artist friends of BCC who are donating 100 percent of the proceeds to BCC.

Brookfield Craft Center is at 286 Whisconier Road (Route 25), just east of the four corners intersection with Route 7/202. Call 775-4526 for more information.
