*Tellabration with Curtis Urbina: Story teller Curtis Urbina is bringing Tellabration, a celebration of story telling, to C.H. Booth Library for children ages 4-8 on three consecutive Friday afternoons â November 7, 14 and 21 â at 3:30 pm in the library meeting room.
On November 7 Curtis will tell participatory tales, November 14 will feature silly stories, and on November 21 come and hear folk tales.
No sign up is required, just bring your imagination.
Adult & Family Programs
*Upcoming Book Discussions: The Nonfiction Book Group will be discussing Mayflower: a Story of Courage, Community and War by Nathaniel Philbrick on Tuesday, November 4, at 1 pm; Daytime Book Group will discuss Rise and Shine by Anna Quindlen on Monday, November 10, at 1 pm; and the Evening Book Discussion on Thursday, November 20, at 7:30, will cover The Last Picture Show by Larry McMurtry.
Multiple copies of the books are available at the circulation desk. Everyone is invited
*Wednesday Afternoon at the Movies: On November 5 at 1 pm weâll show the film Arranged.
This foreign film is about a young Orthodox woman, Rochel Meshenberg, who is about to begin her first year as a special education teacher at the local public school.
She is also about to embark on what her father and mother call the âmost exciting time of her lifeâ â the process of finding a husband via the time-tested method of using a shadchen, or matchmaker.
*Identifying Possible Delays: The series âIdentifying Possible Delays in Your Childâs Language, Social Skills and Learningâ will continue on Tuesday, November 18, at 7 pm. Charlie Manos, the director of pupil services in the Danbury School System, and Ann Rose, a child advocate, attorney and mother of two special needs children will present âHow To Get Help: Negotiating the Special Education Maze.â
The final program, on December 2, will be âLearning About Additional Services in the Community.â Details to follow.
C.H. Booth Library is open Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 8 pm; Friday from 11 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm; and Sunday from noon to 5 pm (closed Sundays in July and August).
