For The Record

To the Editor:

I write to set the record straight. I’ve been the vice chairman of the Legislative Council for the past three years under Chairman Will Rodgers. Whenever a decision was made to cancel a council meeting during my tenure, Will always consulted me first. If I ever felt a meeting was necessary, we had it. I don’t believe that the citizens of Newtown suffered because a meeting was not held.

Will is a dedicated public servant. He and I don’t always agree on the issues, but I always found his positions to be well reasoned and thoughtful, even when they differed from my own.
