DUI Charge

Police said they received a report concerning a motorist who was allegedly driving erratically on Queen Street about 1:39 pm October 27, so they went to the area.

Police said they found and stopped the vehicle in question at 6 Queen Street to investigate the matter.

Police said they charged motorist Joycelyn Kowats, 42, of 9 Swamp Road with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, driving with a suspended license, driving without automotive insurance, and driving without a front marker plate.

Police said the evading responsibility charge stems from Kowats having been involved in a minor accident with a stationary object in the commercial parking lot at 6 Queen Street.

After processing, police released Kowats on $100 bail for a November 12 court appearance.
