Beloved Husband

and Father

James G. Byerley, 77, beloved husband of Judi (Gingeroski) Byerley of Newtown, died unexpectedly October 23 at Danbury Hospital after being stricken ill at his home.

He was born in Rocky Ford, Colo., on August 25, 1931, a son of James G. and Bobbi (Cope) Byerley.

 Mr Byerley grew up in Darien and was a graduate of Darien High School. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War. For 38 years Mr Byerley was a test engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft. He had lived in Newtown since 1965.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Wendy DiLorenzo and Sandra Shaw both of Danbury; a grandson, Travis Cassidy of Newtown; a granddaughter, Megan DiLorenzo of Danbury; and two brothers, Jay Byerley of Arkansas and Tim Byerley of Missouri.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 am, Monday, November 3, in Land’s End Cemetery, Route 25, Hawleyville section of Newtown. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are in care of the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
