Life Line Screenings At NUMC November 15
On Saturday, November 15, area residents will have the opportunity to spend a few minutes doing something that could possibly reduce their risk for a stroke and vascular disease. Health screenings will take place at Newtown United Methodist Church from 9 am to 4 pm.
Life Line Screening offers health screenings to assess the risk of stroke and vascular disease. These screenings include a carotid artery screening, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, and an ankle brachial index (ABI). Also offered is a bone density screening to assess the risk for osteoporosis, which can affect men and women.
Life Line is also introducing two new screenings: an atrial fibrillation test (heart rhythm test) and also finger stick blood screening for cholesterol and glucose are both available now.
Screenings are fast, painless, and low cost. They embody the use of ultrasound technology and are conducted by registered or registry-eligible ultrasound technologists. A board certified physician reviews the results of each test to ensure the accuracy of the results before they are mailed to the individual.
Participants receiving screening results that suggest further evaluation are encouraged to seek follow-up care with his/her own physician.
Those interested in registering for a screening should call 800-324-1851 to schedule an appointment. Tests are individually prices at $45. Discounted package pricing is available.
Life Line Screening was established in 1993, and has since become the nationâs leading provider of vascular screenings. These noninvasive, inexpensive, and painless ultrasound tests help people identify their risk for stroke, vascular diseases, or osteoporosis early enough for their physician to begin preventive procedures.
