Shirley Peck Orlando

Accomplished Artist

Shirley Peck Orlando, 87, died October 25 after a long illness. A native of New York City, she was a resident of Stamford for 43 years prior to relocating to Lockwood Lodge in Newtown.

She is survived by her three loving children, including N. Scott and Dianne Orlando of Newtown; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister; several nieces and nephews; and innumerable friends.

An accomplished, award-winning sculptor, writer, and gardener, she gave many years of volunteer service to the Stamford Art Association, Palace Theater for the Performing Arts, Probation Department, St Joseph’s Hospital, and as a mentor.

A private burial service was held at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in Stamford.

Honan Funeral Home, Newtown, will host a memorial service at noon, Saturday, November 1.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice, the Salvation Army, AmeriCares, or Save the Children.
