South Main Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident near 153 South Main Street about 12:53 pm October 19.
Motorist Karen Thompson, 58, of Wingdale, N.Y., who was driving a 2004 Honda SUV southward on South Main Street, slowed and was attempting to make a left turn into a commercial driveway at 153 South Main Street, as motorist Patricia Hoffkins, 54, of New Milford was driving a 1999 Mercury sedan northward on South Main Street, police said.
The two vehicles collided. Ambulance volunteers transported both Hoffkins and a passenger in the Mercury to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Botsford firefighters went to the accident.
 Police issued Thompson an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.
Nissan Vs Volkswagen
Motorist Carl Cruz, 60, of Shelton was driving a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta sedan westward on Sugar Street (Route 302), near its intersection with Longview Heights Road about 8:49 am October 23, when Cruz stopped suddenly for a noncontact vehicle, police said.
Westbound motorist Richard Simoneau, 61, of 7 Crabapple Lane, who was driving a 1997 Nissan Quest minivan, then struck the rear end of the Volkswagen, police said.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Simoneau for following too closely.
Berkshire Road
In heavy, stop-and-go traffic about 3:49 pm October 22 near 15 Berkshire Road, eastbound motorist Teresa Gibbons, 42, of 8 Yogananda Street, who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Venture minivan, struck the rear end of an eastbound 2004 Volvo XC-70 station wagon driven by Diane Fuchs, 41, of 71 Berkshire Road, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Gibbons an infraction for following too closely.
Intersection Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the hazardous intersection of Church Hill Road and Walnut Tree Hill Road about 4:08 pm October 23.
Motorist Katherine Wargo, 46, of Seymour, who was driving a 2004 Volvo XC-90 SUV, was at a stop sign on southbound Walnut Tree Hill and was attempting to make a left turn onto eastbound Church Hill Road, as motorist William Falbo, 23, of 13 Bishop Circle was driving a 2001 Honda Civic sedan westward on Church Hill Road, police said.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Sandy Hook firefighters went to the accident.
Police issued Wargo a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
Moving Violations
Police report that they observed motorist Dolores Rigney, 60, of Brookfield driving a vehicle without a front marker plate on Toddy Hill Road at about 12:53 pm October 23, so they stopped her to investigate.
Police charged Rigney with failure to display a front marker plate and also with improper use of a marker plate.
Police released Rigney on a written promise to appear November 6 in Danbury Superior Court.
Saab Vs Dodge
Police investigated a collision at the intersection of Berkshire Road and Wasserman Way that occurred about 6:30 pm October 23.
The accident involved motorist Nicholas Scully, 25, of Redding, who was driving a 1999 Saab 93-S sedan, and motorist Nicholas Brelsford, 21, of Southbury, who was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, police said. There were no injuries.
Scully received a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, according to police.
Police charged Brelsford with driving while under suspension. Brelsford was released on a written promise to appear in court on November 11.

Traffic Signal
Police report that while on patrol about 7 am October 25, they spotted motorist Colleen Poundstone, 52, of 28 Riverside Road drive through a red traffic signal on Church Hill Road, near its intersection with Walnut Tree Hill Road, so they stopped her to investigate.
Police said they charged Poundstone with failure to obey a traffic control signal and with driving with a suspended license.
Police released her on a written promise to appear November 6 in Danbury Superior Court.
Cadillac SUV
Motorist Beth Genovese, 48, of 26 Baldwin Road was waiting in traffic on southbound South Main Street, near Mile Hill Road, about 5:41 pm October 21, when the rear window and the left-side rear window of the 2008 Cadillac SRX SUV which she was driving shattered for some reason.
Police said they investigated and found that a rock had hit both windows simultaneously, breaking them. It is unclear where the rock came from, police said. There were no injuries.
Church Hill Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident on the hazardous section of Church Hill Road in front of the Blue Colony Diner about 5:30 pm October 22.
Motorist Mary Alice Norrison, 47, of Danbury was driving a 2006 Hyundai sedan westward on Church Hill Road when the driver of a noncontact vehicle in the eastbound straight-ahead lane there allowed the Hyundai to make a left turn toward the diner, police said.
At that time, however, motorist Natalie Zawojek, 21, of Armonk, N.Y., was driving a 2007 Toyota sedan eastward in the right-turn-only lane for the entrance ramp to eastbound Interstate 84, police said.
The Hyundai collided with the Toyota, police said. There were no injuries. Norrison received an infraction for making a restricted turn, police said.

Exit 10 Collision
Police report a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of an off-ramp at Exit 10 of Interstate 84 and Church Hill Road at about 5:16 pm October 21.
The accident involved trucker Khalis Mitalyev, 53, of West Springfield, Mass., who was driving a tractor-trailer truck, and motorist Stephen Fay, 55, of Evergreen Road, who was driving a 2008 Toyota pickup truck, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued Mitalyev a written warning for making an improper right turn.
DUI Charge
Police said they received a report concerning a motorist who was allegedly driving erratically on Queen Street about 1:39 pm October 27, so they went to the area.
Police said they found and stopped the vehicle in question at 6 Queen Street to investigate the matter.
Police said they charged motorist Joycelyn Kowats, 42, of 9 Swamp Road with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, driving with a suspended license, driving without automotive insurance, and driving without a front marker plate.
Police said the evading responsibility charge stems from Kowats having been involved in a minor accident with a stationary object in the commercial parking lot at 6 Queen Street.
After processing, police released Kowats on $100 bail for a November 12 court appearance.
Intersection Accident
A two-vehicle accident occurred at the hazardous intersection of Berkshire Road and Wasserman Way about 8:06 am October 23.
Motorist Terry Gottlieb, 50, of 84 Great Ring Road, who was driving a 2007 Toyota RAV-4 SUV, was waiting on westbound Berkshire Road to make a left turn onto Wasserman Way, police said.
Motorist Donald Bashak, 52, of 49 Bennetts Bridge Road, who was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck, similarly was waiting behind the Toyota to make a left turn, police said.
The Toyota then started to turn left, as did the Dodge, police said. The Toyota then stopped and was struck from behind by the Dodge, according to police.
There were no injuries. Police issued Bashak a written warning for following too closely.
School Bus
Police report an accident involving a full-size school bus, which was carrying a full load of elementary school students, and a sedan at the intersection of Mile Hill Road South and Keating Farms Road about 8:22 am October 28. There were no injuries.
Motorist Amy Allen, 32, of Kihei, Hawaii, who was driving a 2004 Honda sedan, was waiting at a stop sign on westbound Keating Farms Road at its intersection with Mile Hill Road South, police said.
School bus driver Frederick Bassett, 59, of Birch Hill Road was traveling southward on Mile Hill Road South and then attempted to turn left onto Keating Farms Road, police said.
In making the left turn, the bus collided with the sedan, police said. Both vehicles received minor damage, according to police.
Police issued Bassett a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Three Vehicles
Police report a three-vehicle accident at the hazardous intersection of Church Hill Road and Walnut Tree Hill Road about 3:36 pm October 23. There were no injuries.
Motorist Charles Hill, 18, of 4 Timber Lane, who was driving a 2006 Mercury Milan sedan southward on Walnut Tree Hill Road, stopped at a stop sign at that roadâs intersection with Church Hill Road, police said.
At that time, motorist Shamsul Alam, 56, of Norwalk was driving a 1996 Honda Civic coupe westward on Church Hill Road.
Also, motorist Carl Cooper, 82, of 52 Elizabeth Circle was driving a 2003 Lexus GS-300 sedan eastward on Church Hill Road.
The Mercury then attempted to turn right onto westbound Church Hill Road, but collided with the westbound Honda, pushing the Honda into the eastbound Lexus, police said. Police issued Hill an infraction for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.
