To the Editor:

With the presidential race and every seat in our legislature up for grabs next week, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that Newtown is also electing the person who will replace Julia Wasserman in Hartford. There is no doubt Will Rodgers is the best candidate to be her successor.

Will’s priorities include limiting government and taxes and protecting agricultural lands and rural character — which are very similar to goals he’s achieved serving in local office for the past ten years. He’s also pledged to work with colleagues from rural and suburban districts to ensure they receive a fair share of state aid.

Newtown truly needs a state representative who has the ability to hit the ground running. There is simply too much at stake. Will Rodgers will be a strong advocate for our community.
