To the Editor:

I am honored to have the opportunity to vote for Will Rodgers as our state representative for the 106th District. Will’s public service has ranged from his longstanding membership on the Legislative Council to his recent tour of duty in Iraq as a colonel in the United States Marine Corps. Will’s wide range of experience should serve the citizens of Newtown well among the diverse and competing interests in Hartford.

Throughout Will’s career, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to limited government, fiscal responsibility, and the well-being of the citizens of Newtown. Many aspects of town affairs are inextricably linked to the actions of state government, from educational funding to highway maintenance and access. Now is the time we need a proven leader in Hartford who commands the respect of his peers, as Will Rodgers does, to represent Newtown and preserve our standing.
