“It’s a great community and we see a lot of traffic here,” said Jeff Guarino, store manager at Sherwin Williams, located at 255 South Main Street. The paint and wall cover store opened its doors to the public Monday, October 21, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 30.

“We are close to the metro New York area and this location has easy access for contractors,” Mr Guarino said of the corporation’s choice of locations.

He stressed that while much of Sherwin Williams’ business is contractors, homeowners are equally welcome, with personal service a hallmark of the store.

Personal service is just one thing that sets the 148-year-old Sherwin Williams Company apart from big box stores, Mr Guarino said.

“We’re the experts on paint. Paint and wall coverings is all we do,” he pointed out, and in the Newtown location, customers will find a “mom and pop” atmosphere.

A full complement of interior and exterior paints, stains, and wall coverings, with the superior coverage and washability for which Sherwin Williams is known, can be found in the South Main Street location, Mr Guarino said, along with any supplies needed to complete any painting project. From roller brushes to coveralls, drop cloths, brushes, and gloves, to ladders and adhesives, Sherwin Williams can supply it, he said. If it is not in the store, he is happy to order any product a customer might need.

At Sherwin Williams, colors from nearly any other competitor, upholstery samples, or paint chips can be perfectly matched by computer. 

Sherwin Williams offers a reward program known as Paint Perks. Paint Perks allows customers to track paint colors purchased there, for up to ten years, and a ten percent discount on all paints and painting supplies. Trained staff is happy to help with in-store color consultation and decorating ideas, and delivery is available upon request for larger orders.
