Angelo J. Manzo

Angelo J. Manzo, 77, of Bridgeport, husband of Shirley (Damiano) Manzo, died October 31 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Manzo and his sister-in-law, Ann, of Newtown.

Mr Manzo was born in Bridgeport on September 11, 1923, a son of the late Gennaro Manzo and Michelina (DeZenzo) Manzo, and had been a lifelong Bridgeport resident. Mr Manzo, who was employed for 52 years by Finast stores, was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents, Mr Manzo was predeceased by three brothers, Carmen Manzo, Anthony Manzo and Samuel Manzo; and one sister, Adel ne Damiano. Survivors, in addition to his wife of 49 years, include a daughter, JoAnn Manzo of Bridgeport; three sisters, Grace Nobile of Bridgeport, Elvira Porco and her husband, Ernest, of Milford, and Carmelia Pellegrino and her husband, Michael, of Trumbull; a sister-in-law, Mae Manzo of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held November 2 at St Ann’s Church, 481 Brewster Street, Bridgeport. Entombment with military honors followed in Mountain Grove Mausoleum, Bridgeport.

Donations may be made in Mr Manzo’s name, through the funeral director, to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, West Haven.

The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull was in charge of arrangements.
