Center Offers Free Screenings

WATERBURY — In recognition of National Bladder Awareness Week, the Evergreen Club 50 of Waterbury Hospital and Connecticut Center for Continence, Waterbury, are providing free bladder and incontinence screenings. Appointments can be scheduled from 2 to 4 pm and 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, November 18, at the Be Well Center at the Brass Mill Church mall.

The center is located on the second level, next to Sears and the Food Court. To schedule an appointment, call the Be Well Center at 203/575-0730.

Bladder cancer is the fifth most common form of cancer in men and the tenth most common form of cancer in women in the United States, and the numbers are rising. Urinary incontinence, or the lack of bladder control, affects more than 10 million Americans, of which 85 percent are female.
