A Great Experience

To the Editor:

This is just a short note to say thanks to all of the people in Newtown who have made the last few months on the campaign trail a great experience. Thanks to all of the candidates for agreeing to volunteer to serve the community and for the collegial nature of the campaigns. Good luck to you all.

 It has been a wonderful experience. Memorable highlights have included the Labor Day Parade, the debate put on by The Bee, The Bee Candidate Profiles, Campaigning at the Dump, Pizza and Politics, and Halloween on Main Street where we candidates might have been the scariest things in town.  Special thanks goes to all of the volunteers in the Lions Club, the Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, the Women’s Club and all the political parties.

Win, lose, or draw, I’m planning to continue serving the town either as a new member of the Legislative Council or as a member of the Conservation Commission. I hope all the candidates and many others plan to do the same. It is hard work, sometimes fun, sometimes frustrating but always rewarding. Thanks again to everyone for making it “Nicer in Newtown.”
