To the Editor:

My decision to endorse Herb Rosenthal, Joe Bojnowski and Jan Lee Brookes was an easy decision as I have known these individuals for a number of years, have seen their dedication and accomplishments, and personally know they are concerned for All the residents of Newtown.

Herb and Joe have worked passionately and tirelessly for the past several years to improve the quality of life and insure a secure future for Newtown. The tax relief program for seniors implemented and expanded, purchase of open space, the expansion of the schools, the renovation and development of Fairfield Hills are only samplings of their hard work.

Jan’s dedication as a high school teacher for 20 years and her numerous programs concerning social issues demonstrates her concern for people. Her honesty and compassion are unequaled. Her thoroughness is flawless. Jan Brookes would be an asset for District 3.

My decision to endorse the entire Democratic slate was made after meeting the candidates, reading their bios and answers in The Bee, attending the debate at ETH and the Pizza and Politics forum this past week. The candidates on the Democratic slate displayed that “extra something” that I want in an elected official. Along with their education, accomplishments, and dedication their concern is for All the citizens of Newtown — students to seniors — We All count.
