To the Editor:

I am writing this letter in support of Lillian Bittman for the Board of Education.

I have known Lillian for five years and have come to admire her intelligence, insightfulness, determination and love of learning. As a mother of two Sandy Hook School children, I know Lillian to be a tireless and dedicated school volunteer. Whether it is by operating the school newspaper, organizing school fundraisers, assisting at school events and activities, or helping out in the classroom, Lillian has demonstrated her deep commitment to education. By devoting her time and talent to our children, she has greatly enriched their educational experience.

Lillian has three children in three different Newtown schools and therefore has a unique perspective of the challenges facing our schools. Her diverse background in journalism and community strategic planning provide her with the necessary skills to broadly examine the issues and come up with solutions that will benefit our schools and our community.

Lillian is a natural leader, an experienced communicator, and a person of integrity. On the Board of Education, Lillian will continue to work hard to ensure the quality of our schools. For our children, our schools and our community, let’s take this opportunity to vote for a person who will make a difference. I urge you to vote for Lillian Bittman.
