Franklin H. Ellison

Franklin  (Frank) H. Ellison, Jr, 77, husband of Irene M. (Stefura) Ellison of Bridgeport, died November 1 in Bridgeport Hospital.

He was the father of Edith M. Poidomani of Newtown.

Mr Ellison was born in Ludlow, Mass., on April 29, 1922, and was the son of the late Franklin and Ethel (O’Gorman) Ellison. Mr Ellison was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and served during World War II. He was a salesman with Michael Pantano Auto Sales and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and Moose Club. He was an avid musician and played the drums with many local bands.

In addition to his wife, Irene, and daughter, he is survived by four sons, Frank J. Ellison of Milford, Stephen J. Ellison of Wynantskill, N.Y., Paul A. Ellison of Bridgeport and James A. Ellison of Stratford; three other daughters, Irene F. Ellison and Catherine M. Ellison and Paulette R. Ellison, all of Bridgeport; two sisters, Elsie Hiersche and Edith Thompson, both of Ludlow, Mass.; six grandchildren, Todd S. Ellison, Nicole S. Ellison, Alyssa M. Ellison, Tasos J. Manalis, Ronald M. Poidomani, Jr., and Edith M. Poidoman; one sister-in-law, Helen P. Bednar of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by one brother, William (Bud) Ellison, and two sisters, Eva Tetreault and Marge Davis.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5 at 8 am in the Galello-Luchansky and Samorajczyk Funeral Home, 2189 Barnum Avenue, Stratford, and at 9 am in Sts Cyril and Methodius Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St Michael’s Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, November 4, from 4 to 8 pm.
