Flu Shots At Bridgeport Hospital

BRIDGEPORT — Bridgeport Hospital will provide flu shots for adults, 9 am to 6 pm  November 6 and 7, in the main lobby of the hospital, 267 Grant Street. The cost is $25 and appointments are required.

Convenient self-pay parking is available in the Kaulbach Garage outside the main entrance. To register, call toll free 888-357-2396.

Pregnant women need written permission from their doctor. People allergic to eggs or contact lens solution should not receive a flu shot.

According to the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the single best way to protect against the flu is to get vaccinated each year. The CDC says the best time to get vaccinated is October or November, but getting a shot in December or later may still offer some protection.

Flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. The CDC recommends that people at high risk of having serious flu complications should receive a flu shot each year, including seniors.
