All three of Newtown’s polling locations are operating today.

Residents who live in District 1 and District 1-5 cast ballots at Newtown Middle School, 11 Queen Street.

Residents of District 2 and District 3-2 vote at Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane.

Residents of District 3-1 and District 3-5 voters at Head O' Meadow School, 94 Boggs Hill Road.

For registered voters unsure of where their polling location is, the Town of Newtown has created a website page that offers a listing, by road name, to help residents find their way to the polls.

Local Girl Scouts are greeting registered voters as they arrive at the polls in Newtown today. It’s also Girl Scout Cookie Season, so the young Scouts are doing some campaigning of their own, offering boxes of cookies along with smiles. The smiles are free, Girl Scout cookies are $4 a box. The Brownies at Reed School Tuesday morning had a large supply of this year’s offerings, from classics like Samoas, Thin Mints, Trefoils and Do-Si-Dos to new offerings including Savannah Smiles and Rah-Rah Raisins. From left is Elena Burdo, Teagan Waaler, Ava Lombardo and Nicki Tabor, who are all members of Brownie Troop 50611. Polls across Connecticut are open until 8 pm.
