Robert E. Killing Sr., 62, of Woodbury, died October 29 unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Dale (Gillis) Killing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dawne Kornhaas of Newtown; a brother, Alfred Killing, Jr, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a beloved aunt, Marge Eldridge; three grandchildren; and several nieces. He was predeceased by a son, Robert E. Killing, Jr.
Mr Killing was born March 18, 1943, in Bridgeport, the son of Alfred and Patricia (Nolan) Killing. He was raised in the Newtown area and was a graduate of Newtown High School.
After serving in the Marines during Vietnam, he attended Kaynor Tech in Waterbury where he earned an associateâs degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Kendro in Newtown as an electrical engineer until his retirement in 2003 and enjoyed volunteering at Waterbury Hospital.
Mr Killing was known to live an adventurous life and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidsons and collecting Harley memorabilia.
Services for Mr Killing were held November 2 at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere followed by burial in New North Cemetery with military honors.
